How we operate

☑ We take care of learners at their school premises and or at the organized central premises until they are picked up. 
☑ Operates during the course of the term and when necessary on holidays. 
☑ Opens from 13:30 to 17:30 on school days.Caters for learners from both primary and high schools.
  • Enrolment forms are provided to parents to fill in details of their children for registration
  • Full-time and adhoc enrolments are welcome.
  • A fixed charge for full time attendances.
  • Adhoc rates are used for occasional attendances.

Security

  • ·Learners are encouraged to report to aftercare within the first 30mins if aftercare is at their school premises and in an hour if away from school premises. Thereafter a staff member will make a follow-up around the school premises to make sure all learners are signed into aftercare and there is no loitering. Learners will be signed in as they came to aftercare and signed out by the person picking them up with a signature and time of picking.
  • A list of three adults to pick up a learner with their contacts is submitted to aftercare to make sure that no unauthorised persons will be able to pick up learners.
  • A written permission letter should be produced if any other person who is not on the list is to pick up a child at aftercare.
  • Parents are encouraged to inform aftercare if their children are not attending aftercare for accountability purposes.
    · Records of learners where-about and activities are taken note of.

Health and Food

  • A healthy afternoon snack will be served to learners everyday.
  • Parents to communicate allergies to the aftercare staff that learners will be served the right food for each of them.
  • Medicines to be handed in to aftercare staff for a supervised intake.

Staff Duties

  • Sign in learners into aftercare
  • Make sure learners are signed out by the authorised persons.
  • Supervise homework.
  • Listen to readings from lower grade learners
  • Make sure the aftercare premises are always clean.
  • Provide first aid to learners when need arises.
  • Communicate with parents if there is an emergency they should attend to regarding their children.
  • Serving snack.
  • Establishing a home environment away from home.
  • Instil discipline in learners.
  • Teach learners good morals.
  • Teach learners life skills.
  • Provide counselling where it is required.
    Encourage learners to do bible memory verses.
  • Reward good behaviour.
